1. Why do you want to work at Revolut?
This question is an opportunity to show your enthusiasm for the company and its mission. When answering, it can be helpful to mention a specific aspect of Revolut that you admire or something about the company’s culture that appeals to you.

Your company has made international money transfers more accessible than ever before, which is especially important in developing countries where many people don’t have access to traditional banking services. 2. Do you have any experience with foreign exchange markets?

FIN Crime Manager Interview

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut
The interview process was quite long: an initial conversation with recruiter, an assessment, two live challenges and a final bar raiser interview. Before each stage, I had a prep call with the recruiter and these were helpful. I found that the team I met with for the live challenges were personable and engaged and asked questions that allowed me to demonstrate my skills and knowledge. I was told in the prep call that the final bar raiser interview would be an opportunity to showcase my achievements and talk about my strengths as well as weaknesses. I found the bar raiser interview to have a different tone to the other interviews I had completed. It felt like there was a set of questions I had to answer which weren’t tailored to me and my experience, and it felt like most of the questions focussed on my weaknesses, almost how I ‘lower the bar’. It felt rushed. After the interview, I felt quite deflated. It would be better if the questions were more tailored and personable especially for final interviews where hours of interviewee and recruiter time have gone into preparation. I didn’t pass the bar raiser interview despite passing the four previous stages with no concerns from interviewers. It would make more sense for the bar raiser interview to be one of the first interviews to save company and candidate time if this interview/interviewer has so much weighting. I spent around 15 hours preparing and interviewing with Revolut and when I asked for feedback after not being successful, I was told that Revolut could not provide any feedback. It would be good if at least some feedback should a candidate get to a certain point within the interview process. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend applying right now but have seen Revolut is making positive steps with its culture and accountabilities going forwards so fingers crossed this also trickles down to positively impact the interview process!

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Revolut
They approached me on LinkedIn.. such a parody of « interview ». No interest at all regarding my past experiences, no questions.. Really had the feeling that the only point of this interview was to add a number in the HR weekly excel sheet meetings. Unprofessional HR. Sended me an automatic email the day after to tell me that my my skills didn’t matched the position. The issue of it was already played. When I asked what was the point of screening me and asking me for interview, no feedback. Answer was out of this world « we had a problem with the platform and email, sorry for the inconvenience. » Worst candidate experience ever. Never seen an HR with that much lack of interest/professionalism Pure waste of time.. I guess it reflect the overall company image. To avoid, if you wanna feel respected and grow as a human being.

I was really invested in this interview, super prepared for it and thought this was a company where I wanted to work. I found a lot of negative feedback online, but decided to put it aside and make a decision based on my own personal experience before deciding if I really wanted to work at Revolut! My interview was rescheduled because the recruiter was sick, and I thought, that's fine I have more time to prepare, as soon as my call started the recruiter told me the position was filled a few days prior to our meeting, this could have been an email, and none of us would loose our time and I could have used the time to focus on interviews that could actually lead somewhere. Massive red flag!!! But thank you Revolut, for showing me so quickly you are not a company where I want to work.

A Lead Role In Design/Marketing Interview
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut
Initial conversation with the recruiter was a friendly chat and overall went well. She asked me if I had any direct managerial experience as that was a requirement for the role. I clearly explained that I didn't, but detailed the managing responsibilities I had taken on in the past that could be relevant - people I've coached and guided towards delivery, as well previously being a department lead. She said that was fine, and put me through to the first round. The person I met with had not looked at my CV, was not familiar with my background and it became clear that the internal structure was chaotic. They didn't seem sure of what they were looking for or the role specifications day-to-day. The interviewer had been doing some of this role ad-hoc themselves in the interim, which presented some ownership and politics issues in how it was described. A number of red flags around process and culture were raised. We went through quite a lot of in-depth questions, which I responded to at length. At the very end, I was asked about management experience. I replied exactly as I had with the recruiter. It was visibly clear from the interviewer's face that they wouldn't be progressing with me. Immediate mood change. The entire call was uncomfortable and I'd been pointlessly grilled. Extremely poor experience with internal disconnect and an utter waste of my time.

Terrible interviewer, was late to the interview, was completely disinterested in the interview and definitely didn’t want to be there. Everything was super well structured. Consisted on 3 main interviews: logic assessment, case study and personal interview. The last one was with the supposed hiring manager and wasn't pleasant at all: the posture, the attitude and the way the questions were asked was rude and too unpolite. FIN Crime Manager Interview

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut
The interview process was quite long: an initial conversation with recruiter, an assessment, two live challenges and a final bar raiser interview. Before each stage, I had a prep call with the recruiter and these were helpful. I found that the team I met with for the live challenges were personable and engaged and asked questions that allowed me to demonstrate my skills and knowledge. I was told in the prep call that the final bar raiser interview would be an opportunity to showcase my achievements and talk about my strengths as well as weaknesses. I found the bar raiser interview to have a different tone to the other interviews I had completed. It felt like there was a set of questions I had to answer which weren’t tailored to me and my experience, and it felt like most of the questions focussed on my weaknesses, almost how I ‘lower the bar’. It felt rushed. After the interview, I felt quite deflated. It would be better if the questions were more tailored and personable especially for final interviews where hours of interviewee and recruiter time have gone into preparation. I didn’t pass the bar raiser interview despite passing the four previous stages with no concerns from interviewers. It would make more sense for the bar raiser interview to be one of the first interviews to save company and candidate time if this interview/interviewer has so much weighting. I spent around 15 hours preparing and interviewing with Revolut and when I asked for feedback after not being successful, I was told that Revolut could not provide any feedback. It would be good if at least some feedback should a candidate get to a certain point within the interview process. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend applying right now but have seen Revolut is making positive steps with its culture and accountabilities going forwards so fingers crossed this also trickles down to positively impact the interview process!
Account Executive Interview
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Revolut
They approached me on LinkedIn.. such a parody of « interview ». No interest at all regarding my past experiences, no questions.. Really had the feeling that the only point of this interview was to add a number in the HR weekly excel sheet meetings. Unprofessional HR. Sended me an automatic email the day after to tell me that my my skills didn’t matched the position. The issue of it was already played. When I asked what was the point of screening me and asking me for interview, no feedback. Answer was out of this world « we had a problem with the platform and email, sorry for the inconvenience. » Worst candidate experience ever. Never seen an HR with that much lack of interest/professionalism Pure waste of time.. I guess it reflect the overall company image. To avoid, if you wanna feel respected and grow as a human being.

I was really invested in this interview, super prepared for it and thought this was a company where I wanted to work. I found a lot of negative feedback online, but decided to put it aside and make a decision based on my own personal experience before deciding if I really wanted to work at Revolut! My interview was rescheduled because the recruiter was sick, and I thought, that's fine I have more time to prepare, as soon as my call started the recruiter told me the position was filled a few days prior to our meeting, this could have been an email, and none of us would loose our time and I could have used the time to focus on interviews that could actually lead somewhere. Massive red flag!!! But thank you Revolut, for showing me so quickly you are not a company where I want to work.

They didn't seem sure of what they were looking for or the role specifications day-to-day. The interviewer had been doing some of this role ad-hoc themselves in the interim, which presented some ownership and politics issues in how it was described. A number of red flags around process and culture were raised. We went through quite a lot of in-depth questions, which I responded to at length. At the very end, I was asked about management experience. I replied exactly as I had with the recruiter. It was visibly clear from the interviewer's face that they wouldn't be progressing with me. Immediate mood change. The entire call was uncomfortable and I'd been pointlessly grilled. Extremely poor experience with internal disconnect and an utter waste of my time.

5 Tips for your Live Coding Interview
You’ve just received an invitation to attend a tech screening interview at Revolut. This is your moment to shine! It might feel like a lot of pressure — after all, you only have between 30 and 60 minutes to show the interviewers what you can do. They want to see your real-time problem solving skills, and you’re wondering what you can do to prepare for the unknown. To help you go into this interview with confidence, here are my five top tips on what you can do to prepare yourself to get the best results.
Be yourself
One of the main goals of the live coding interview is to assess how you deal with given requirements and provide solutions to problems as if it were a real task in your day-to-day work. Some candidates might try to experiment with approaches they wouldn’t use in everyday practice. This can be a mistake, as it often pulls all their focus into the technical problems of writing and debugging code. Instead, you should focus on your tried-and-tested methods of working to deliver a working and tested MVP (minimum viable product) solution, which you’ll then have space and time to improve and refactor before the end of the interview.
One step at a time
The task at hand will probably have several steps that you’ll need to complete, and your time will be constrained. Remember that this is a simulation of your day-to-day work, so approach the problem logically and break it into manageable chunks. It’s better to deliver some working functionality than to start many different little tasks and leave them all incomplete. Start with a plan, so you can better control the quality of your work in the time you’re given.
Think loudly
There’s no such thing as a stupid question. As a developer, most tasks will require some degree of clarification from your requestor. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to ask whether your planned approach is correct before wasting time on implementing your own interpretation.
Don’t overcomplicate
Let’s assume that you get a task to implement a piece of code which tells you if a given number is prime or not. You don’t need defining interfaces, REST APIs, or multithreading. Instead, form a simple working solution which fulfils the requirement, but without the unnecessary overhead. Be careful not to cross the line between creating a minimum working solution, and writing untested code which just prints some output to the console. Once you’re done with the little things, there’s always something in the ‘interview backlog’ to deliver next.
Practice makes perfect
There’s always something to improve in the way we write code. While you can read countless books and articles about it, there’s nothing better than sitting down and spending some time trying things out yourself. Nobody is expecting you to memorise all the APIs and structures in the world, but having several years of experience doesn’t excuse you from being up to date with the most recent language syntax and concepts. Take the example of Java — it’s 2020 and not everybody is familiar with the concept of Optionals and null handling. The answer to these problems is practice.

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut
The interview process was quite long: an initial conversation with recruiter, an assessment, two live challenges and a final bar raiser interview. Before each stage, I had a prep call with the recruiter and these were helpful. I found that the team I met with for the live challenges were personable and engaged and asked questions that allowed me to demonstrate my skills and knowledge. I was told in the prep call that the final bar raiser interview would be an opportunity to showcase my achievements and talk about my strengths as well as weaknesses. I found the bar raiser interview to have a different tone to the other interviews I had completed. It felt like there was a set of questions I had to answer which weren’t tailored to me and my experience, and it felt like most of the questions focussed on my weaknesses, almost how I ‘lower the bar’. It felt rushed. After the interview, I felt quite deflated. It would be better if the questions were more tailored and personable especially for final interviews where hours of interviewee and recruiter time have gone into preparation. I didn’t pass the bar raiser interview despite passing the four previous stages with no concerns from interviewers. It would make more sense for the bar raiser interview to be one of the first interviews to save company and candidate time if this interview/interviewer has so much weighting. I spent around 15 hours preparing and interviewing with Revolut and when I asked for feedback after not being successful, I was told that Revolut could not provide any feedback. It would be good if at least some feedback should a candidate get to a certain point within the interview process. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend applying right now but have seen Revolut is making positive steps with its culture and accountabilities going forwards so fingers crossed this also trickles down to positively impact the interview process!

They approached me on LinkedIn.. such a parody of « interview ». No interest at all regarding my past experiences, no questions.. Really had the feeling that the only point of this interview was to add a number in the HR weekly excel sheet meetings. Unprofessional HR. Sended me an automatic email the day after to tell me that my my skills didn’t matched the position. The issue of it was already played. HR Interview took around 1 hour and an assignment that is excepted to take 5 hours to complete before the 2nd round of interview (which is way too much for an assignment after the HR round) No responds from the HR after that even with multiple follow ups

A Lead Role In Design/Marketing Interview
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut
Initial conversation with the recruiter was a friendly chat and overall went well. She asked me if I had any direct managerial experience as that was a requirement for the role. I clearly explained that I didn't, but detailed the managing responsibilities I had taken on in the past that could be relevant - people I've coached and guided towards delivery, as well previously being a department lead. She said that was fine, and put me through to the first round. The person I met with had not looked at my CV, was not familiar with my background and it became clear that the internal structure was chaotic. They didn't seem sure of what they were looking for or the role specifications day-to-day. The interviewer had been doing some of this role ad-hoc themselves in the interim, which presented some ownership and politics issues in how it was described. A number of red flags around process and culture were raised. We went through quite a lot of in-depth questions, which I responded to at length. At the very end, I was asked about management experience. I replied exactly as I had with the recruiter. It was visibly clear from the interviewer's face that they wouldn't be progressing with me. Immediate mood change. The entire call was uncomfortable and I'd been pointlessly grilled. Extremely poor experience with internal disconnect and an utter waste of my time.

Pretty patchy process, they’re obviously just trying full roles because of their very high attrition but with generally high quality people. Reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn, had an initial couple of 30min calls with a recruiter whose internet was poor (sounded like she was in an internet cafe), I couldn’t really understand what she was saying. Then had the online test, which was very straight forward. Then had the case interview a few weeks after that, didn’t really prepare as well as I could have. We spend 45mins on my experience solving problems - manager was more focused on how long things take to get done as their approach to risk is fundamentally different to other players in the market. But of a strange interview and didn’t get the best vibes from the interviewer, then had 15mins to rush through a problem question on recruitment (…). Few mins at the end to ask a few questions which I wasn’t particularly interested in by then. Felt like a strange process overall that wasn’t targeted at good people, it’s more about finding people who can hit targets, a lot of discussion focused on key performance indicators.

Lengthy interview process: 1. HR Screening Call 2. Online Psychometric Test 3. Prep Call with HR for Problem-solving 4. Problem-solving Interview 5. Prep Call with HR for Hiring Manager 6. Hiring Manager Interview 7. Prep Call with HR for Bar Raiser 8. Bar Raiser/Culture Fit Interview 9. Local CEO Interview Reached Round 8 but didn't receive any result after that despite following up with the HR multiple times. Felt disappointed with being ghosted after investing so much time and effort preparing for the interviews. For the problem-solving interview, it was a consulting case study format, interviewer will consistently probe until you reach the desired answer, don't worry about it. For Hiring Manager interview, I was presented with another case study to solve which I was quite taken aback by as I expected a more conversational flow as the HR had briefed. For Bar Raiser, they really dig into every little detail of your past experience, so be prepared to answer that.

Case study interview (2nd round after HR screening call) was very poorly conducted. The case question was on Revolut launching a trading product but have seen decline in gross profit. The interview was 45mins and the first 10-15mins was already used for introductions. This resulted in the actual case being only 30mins or so, for a very broad case topic. I had a consulting background and am currently in a strategy team of a tech company, so I believed I could hold my own during this case. However, the interviewer did not give any room for broad structured discussions and seemed intent on driving the ‘correct’ answer, constantly citing that time was limited. A ‘normal’ case study is typically used to gauge candidates’ creative thinking and structured analysis to ultimately zero down to root cause. However, I was abruptly shut down again and again while presenting my thoughts, which threw me off a lot. It seemed like the interviewer wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible, and was already writing me off at the start for not generating the correct answers off the bat. The interviewer constantly prompted me to ask for data, which I could have done at the start when breaking down the problem, but I chose to explain the whole universe of potential issues before getting to where the problem was (and I did make my methodology clear at the start before presenting). Seemed like they only score candidates better for simplicity and lack of breadth. This was quite annoying as I felt I didn’t get an opportunity to showcase my knowledge at all, and had to just solve the case in a rather rudimentary level.

SHL assessment is unfair, especially for non-native speakers. The bar is very high close to 95%. Given the fact that you have only 30 secs per question I think they are losing the whole point of problem solving. e.g. one of the skills measured is the ability to find the differences between images in very tight time frame. Those questions and other IQ style shaped makes this out of date and unrelated to a strategy position. Disappointed by an organization like Revolut.

Stage 1 - Screening interview with HR Stage 2 - Psychometric Tests - they send you a link and you have 20 min to answer 40 questions (it is feasible but you need to maintain a good pace and don't get stuck in a question. If you don't know just move on.) I found it easier than the ones you can find online. Stage 3 - Case-guided interview. In my case was an open-ended business question like 'How to increase Revolut subscriber growth?'. They provide you with some examples to practice. Stage 4 - Raise the bar interview with the future manager

1) HR interview, nothing special 2) 1 hour online test, super easy 3) Interview with manager. Standard McKinsey-like case interview. The call took 45-50 minutes only. I though I failed, but they invited my for the next round. 4) Bar raiser interview. I was supposed to demonstrate Revolut values, but interviewer didn't ask about it explicitly. I only described my past experience. Again, very short conversation, about 40 minutes.
